Cost of Street Food Malaysia | Vegetarian Food in Kuala Lumpur
Looking for cheap street food or vegetarian food in Malaysia? In this video we share how much the cost of street food in a local market in Kuala Lumpur. We discovered this street food market after we visited Jalan Alor and we have to say the prices at this market were much cheaper. The market is called Pasar Malam, Taman Connaught Market and is only open on Wednesday nights.
We by no means consider ourselves foodies, but do like to share how much things cost when traveling. Also, this video is a little longer than our usual videos. I guess we wanted to share as much of this experience as we could and show the locals making their amazing food. If you made it to the end, thank you!
If you have any suggestions for street food in KL or Malaysia tell us and everyone in the comments.

At Pasar Malam pls watch out your kids and u should try the food 1st before give to your kids… Just little tips from me… Happy Adventure btw…
You guys are so sweet..
Stay blessed Always ❤
Its fun travelling with d kids. But somehow it's quite hassle some in crowded areas such as d nite market … What is that? It's a flat bread … Eating with d kids.
Since you are taking vegetarian video, I guess you are a vegetarian. Why not try some local Chinese vegetarian restaurant, they have various kind of "fake meat"(which could be made from soy bean, beancurd or mushroom or any other ingredients) and it's in Chinese cooking style. And normally it's a bit hard to just have vegetarian or vegan food in normal Indian or Malay restaurant or in pasar malam. Go for vegetarian or vegan friendly restaurant instead it won't cost too much (compare to what you paid from Australia)
It's always chaos to bring children to crowded place in such a hot weather without a pram…. I can feel you, juz like when I go out with my sister and her children….. Headache.
Bring up your children.
Vlogging with kids in crowded place?! Mad respect for you guys.
What the! how did I ever miss this. Yeah can totally imagine that this is too much for the lil kids the heat and crowds can even get to us. But massive props to you both for still putting this together guys. Popiah is one of my favourite things to eat in Malaysia, they're so good! poor kids don't seem to be happy the whole time 🙁 The fried noodles <3 n Mango sticky rice is one of the best desserts ever. Now you can have rice for your main meal and rice for dessert too hahahaha
Kudos to you guys for covering this crowded market. That bread looks like an empanada. Yum! We would also be excited about that colorful sticky rice. So interesting that they put preserved fruit on the drink. Looks good. The sugar cane juice machine was especially cool! Nice video guys.
this video is so cool love how it shows the food being made you guys had to have a wonderful trip so amazing i felt like i was right there with you love it new friend come visit us anytime stay connected look forward to more videos
Thats nice. You ask if they have change for rm20. Some people just straight up gave rm50 notes to buy rm2 stuff.
Ur face like Hailey Bieber welcome to Malaysia Truly Asia
Kuala Lumpur.. love the food there too especially nasi kandar.. teh tarik yummm and nasi lemak
For vegetarian food, it’s important to mention you want vegetarian food if the place doesn’t state it’s vegetarian. I’m local vegetarian myself.
Most places will have vegetarian options due to the religious diversity, but sometimes, “no meat” is broadly used, and could still mean there’s non plant based by-products inside. (pork lard if it’s Non-Halal, shrimp paste, chicken stock)
If you’re ever back again, download the GoVeggie Malaysia App. That shows a lot of 100% vegetarian options. But in general, should you inform if you want vegetarian food, most shops can cater for that, from fancy restaurants to mamaks (they should usually have vegetarian options on the menu from my experience) and even street food.
That is one of the reasons I rarely go to Pasar Malams. The crowds.
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur.malaysia..enjoyyy
We loved Malaysia. Pleasant surprise. Street food was always an interesting adventure.
Put together the white santan coconut sauce with the sticky rice and mango.
I recognize this place, this is the famous Taman Connaught night market.
I love your tips guys! So glad I found this channel! (:
That did look a busy place but at least you were able to experience the market. The variety of vendors with different types of tasty food.
This is the pasar malam video that you've mentioned!! Really love the different price and currency change, that's really cool! Joaquin is a foodie in this video! That spring roll looks good, I think might be better than the one we had in Jalan Alor. The apom balik is one of Puri's favourite snack. Is rambutan expensive in Australia? Yeaaah that coconut looks really refreshing! Gosh those are some really cute pao! Usually it's just plain white, no designs at all. Love the video guys! Great job David and Elisa, I don't know how you did it, but you've survived the night market with 3 kids, while vlogging, bracing through the busy street and trying out so many different food!
Yumm! We are going to Malaysia in November and we are SO looking forward to the street food!! Btw new to your channel, love it
