Sprinkleable Nut Cheese Recipe
1/2 cup of toasted pecans
1/2 cup of toasted blanched (no skin) almonds
1/4 cup nutritional or Brewer’s yeast. You can
Increase it to 1/2 cup and it will taste
even better and will be more flaky.
1/4 tsp salt, you can increase salt to 1/2 tsp, because
when the “cheese” is applied to food, you may want to be
able to feel that saltiness of real cheese.
1 or 2 tsp of olive oil.
Later, when you know how the original recipe tastes like, you can add garlic powder or any dried herbs.
However, the way the recipe is, it goes well with fruit. So, by adding garlic powder, you will lose some but gain some.
Process all the ingredients in a food processor until the nuts start turning into nut butter at the bottom edge of the food processor. Stop the motor immediately.
Bon Appetit!
Note: The Brewer’s Yeast brand doesn’t have B 12 indicated in the ingredients section. I don’t know why. Maybe because it doesn’t have it. But most other brands have B 12 added. Just read the label.
Also know this:
B 1 – Thiamine
B 2 – Riboflavin
B 3 – Niacin
B 4 – Folic Acid
B 5 – Pantothenic Acid
B 6 – Pyridoxine
B 12 – Cyanocobalamin (I can’t even pronounce it. Maybe I need
more B 12 to improve my cognition)
Benefits of Nutritional Yeast
Food source of vitamin B
The benefits of the Nutritional Yeast are broad and proven. The Nutritional Yeast is a super food, not a pill of a certain property removed from the context like vitamin C (Vitamin C is a process, like most vitamins, and not an item. It only works together with other “buddies” when it is a part of food, like an apple or a carrot).
So here are some benefits of the nutritional yeast:
Eating this this supplement (or it’s whole food?) regularly will make you sleep better, improve your memory, rejuvenate the skin and it may even increase your life span by 20%.
It is loaded with vitamins and minerals like Potassium, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Magnesium, Calcium (with a great Magnesium to Calcium ratio, that women, since they are more prone to osteoporosis than men, should really appreciate, Then Iron and Zink (And any man who understands the importance of having a huge amount of Zink in a diet, Im sure, will appreciate it’s benefits as well) But the most important of all is the Vit B Complex that the Nutritional Yeast carries.
And what can the B complex do for us?
Quite a few good things. Helps to form insulin, reactivates the liver, reduces nervousness, increases metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fat.
It increases endurance in athletes, improves memory and the learning capacity.
Slows down the graying and the loss of hair. Prevents tooth decay. Normalizes heart functions, for diabetes, improves appetite but reduces hunger pangs. Yes, reduces hunger pangs. Many of us can definitely find this benefit of use.
And it’s true, it does increase the lifespan in mice by 19% when it’s fed to them. What else can it do for you?
Forms red blood cells to combat anemia.
It speeds up the recovery after the workout, helps with depression and insomnia. And this is not a complete list of the benefits that the Nutritional Yeast has to offer…
